Supramolecular crystallization of monodispersed silica spherical particles (MSSP) in concentrated suspensions

V.V. Serdobintseva, A.F. Danilyuk, D.V. Kalinin

The supramolecular crystallization of MSSP concentrated suspensions in alcohol and ethyl ether with various ammonia concentrations is found to occur as a phase transition, with appearance of a pre-transitional state. The temperature dependence of the time, it takes for this state to be established, evedences for the presence of processes of nucleation and activation character.

The temperature dependence of the time of first crystals formation at various k values

The temperature dependence of the time of first crystals formation in ether suspensions of MSSP (1, 5) and in alcohol suspensions of MSSP (2–4, 6) at various κ values. Concentration of structural units in suspensions 1–4 is about 25 vol.% and in suspensions 5, 6 about 12,5 vol.%
