Research interests: 1. Geochemistry: major, trace and isotope composition of rocks and its relation to geodynamics; 2. Petrology and volcanology: petrogenesis and mantle sources of oceanic, island-arc and continental basalts, and volcanism environmental impacts; 3. Geochronology: U-Pb zircon dating and problems of continental growth through magmatism and tectonics; 4. Plate Tectonics: birth, life and death of paleooceans (oceanic magmatism, stratigraphy and environments); petrology-geochemistry-based tectonic modeling; 5. Geology: extent of magmatism and mineral resources of orogenic belts, magmatism-tectonics-stratigraphy correlations; magmatic petrology and volcanology.
